Phase 1 of the King Charles III England Coast Path, covering the North East and Yorkshire, features a highly diverse range of path types that cater to different mobility levels and preferences.
Walkers will find highly accessible, stile-free stretches that include well-paved urban promenades and flat riverside trails. The natural terrain offers wide expanses of soft sand, coastal dunes, tranquil estuarine mudflats, and rugged coastal turf.
Additionally, there are more challenging sections that require navigating cobbled village inclines, undulating clifftops, and long flights of steep steps through wooded valleys and up high chalk cliffs.
