Phase 6: The North West of the King Charles III England Coast Path spans from the Welsh border near Chester all the way up to the Scottish border at Gretna, covering Segments 38 through 45.
This final phase offers a spectacular journey of contrasts, blending iconic urban waterfronts, vibrant Victorian seaside resorts, and wild, remote tidal estuaries where the mountains meet the sea. Along the route, walkers can explore:
- The Wirral Peninsula and the iconic, historic Liverpool Waterfront.
- Anthony Gormley’s haunting “Another Place” statues stretching across Crosby Beach.
- The lively Blackpool Illuminations, Fleetwood, and the vast tidal sands of Morecambe Bay.
- The rugged Cumbrian coast, featuring sweeping views of the Lake District hills, the grey seal colonies of Walney Island, and the ancient Roman fort at Ravenglass.
- St Bees Head (the famous starting point of the Coast to Coast walk) and the wild marshes of the Solway Firth leading up to the Scottish border.
