Phase 5: The North Coast & The North West of the King Charles III England Coast Path spans from St Ives to the Welsh Border, covering Segments 30 through 37.
This phase takes walkers along the dramatic northern coastline of the South West peninsula before heading up to the Severn Estuary. It features a thrilling mix of world-famous surfing spots, towering cliffs, and unique tidal environments. Along the route, walkers can explore:
- The sweeping surfing beaches of North Cornwall and the scenic Godrevy Lighthouse.
- The “Doc Martin” village of Port Isaac, Bedruthan Steps, and some of Cornwall’s highest cliffs near Tintagel and Boscastle.
- The famously steep, cobbled streets of the fishing village of Clovelly in Devon.
- The massive sand dunes of Braunton Burrows and the wild, high-cliff landscapes of Exmoor National Park.
- The Quantock Hills and the Bristol Channel, which is known for having an extreme tidal range.
- The classic seaside resort of Weston-super-Mare and the Severn Estuary at Aust, right before the path reaches the Welsh border.
